Mr. Larry Michael Whitt, age 80, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. At the time of passing, he was a resident of Baldwin, Georgia.
Memorial services will be held in the chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2025. Interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Rev. Mike Fowler will officiate.
Mr. Whitt was born October 27, 1945 to the late James Fields & Lizzie Mae Whitt of Cumming, Georgia. He lived the majority of his life in Cumming and Alpharetta, Georgia.
Mr. Whitt is survived by his children, Denise (Skip) Martin of Flowery Branch, Jeff (Shelly) of Dawsonville, Donna (Richard) Davis of Flowery Branch and Kim (Curtis) Gunderson of Santa Rosa Beach; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, sisters Gloria (Dale) Trent, Sheila McDonnell, sisters-in-law Janie McGinnis and Sylvia Shirley , nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his life long love, Myrtle Shirley Whitt, stepson Michael Charles of Cumming; parents, Lizzie Mae & James Fields; brother Alton Anderson, brothers-in-law Garry McDonnell, Ivan Shirley, Edgar Shirley, Edwin Shirley, Gerald McGinnis, Bill Armstrong; and sisters-in-law, Betty Armstrong, Katie Wright, Mary Pettyjohn, Martha Batchelor, Lois Shirley, and Mildred Shirley, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
Mr. Whitt was an avid lover of all things vintage including cars, western shows and music. He was known as a master mechanic with innate and marvelous abilities during his profession. He loved his family, was very generous, and never met a stranger. His ability to make new friends was remarkable.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to a charity of choice in Mr. Whitt's name.
