After a brief illness Susan passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones in her daughter’s home.

The most important things to her were her faith and her family.

She was active in women’s ministries, and Sunday school at FBC Powder Springs, Ga. She was passionate about card ministry and witnessing and giving Bible tracts to everyone.

In recent years she was a member of FBC, Lula, Ga.

She enjoyed homemaking and raising her six children. Her hobbies included dogs, horses, and a beautiful yard full of colorful flowers. 

She was proceeded in death by son, Jim Stuart; daughter, Nettie Hogue; her father, Henry Shannon; mother, Susie Shannon; and brother, Randy Shannon

Susan is survived by husband Paige Pethel; her children; grandchildren; and great grandchildren: Kim Sailors (Russ), Jon Sailors, Sydney Sailors, Shelby Chaplin (Corey), Maddie and Andy Chaplin, Rusty Sailors, Kathy Mitchell (Chris), Ashley Petersen (Andrew), Christopher, Carson, and Cole Petersen, Kristen Bell (Matt), Barbara McClellan (Warren), Abbi Ervin (Bobby) Ella and Erin Ervin, Sommer Gober (Quadrick) Rocco Gober,  Ian Peppers, Jaxon Peppers, of Jim Stuart (Dana), Eli Stuart (Amber) Lucy Stuart, Emma Smith (Jonathan), Sawyer Stuart, Caleb Stuart, Isaac Stuart, of Nettie Hogue (Mike) Micah Hogue (Emma), Sam Hogue (Madison), Finley Hogue, Maggie Hogue, Jeffery Stuart (Shawn), Kelly and Landon Stuart; Step children, Stanley Jr (Susan), Neil Pethel (Tyanne), Barry Pethel (Lori); Brothers, Chris Shannon (Ann), Shannon Johnson (Steve), David Shannon (Lynn), Sean Shannon (Jennifer), Tonya Cronier (John), Jennifer Shannon; and Sister, Mary Ann Shannon (Randy), Joel Shannon (Lynn), Judy Stein (Britt).
