Linda Strickland

Mrs. Linda Strickland, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 in Gainesville, Georgia. She was born to the late George Benton and Mattie Pepper on December 16, 1943 in Gainesville, Georgia. She retired from Georgia Mountains Regional Development Center as an executive secretary. She was also a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home at 2:00 PM. Reverend Dave Channell will office the service. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Mrs. Strickland is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Williams A “Bill” Strickland; sister, Louise Ferguson; brothers, Charles Benton, James Benton; sisters-in-law, Peggy Benton Truelove, Margaret Strickland; brothers-in-law, Boone Strickland, Boyd Strickland, and Bob Strickland.

She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Dottie Benton Garrison of Flowery Branch, Jean Strickland Farmer of Gainesville, Ann Strickland of Gainesville, Patti Strickland of Gainesville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
