Mr. Lon Cenor Cothran, Sr., age 82, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 in Lavonia, Georgia. He was born to the late Benjamin Cothran and Verdie Buford Cothran on May 4, 1943 in McDonough, Georgia.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Mr. Cothran is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rilla Belle Cothran; and his brother, Titus Cothran.
He is survived by his children, Shelia (C.J) Hopper of Speedwell, TN, Roger (Carolyn) Cothran of Gainesville, GA, Terry (Holly) Cothran of Loganville, GA, Lonnie (Connie) Cothran, Jr. of Lavonia, GA, David Cothran of Gainesville, GA; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings, Frances Bowen, Naomi Rutledge, and Ruth Campbell.
