Surrounded by her family, Louise Lavada Fossett, 104, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026.
She is predeceased by her parents, Asberry and Bessie Evers Fossett, five brothers, Virgil Fossett, Claude Fossett, Vernie Fossett, Milligan Fossett, Azzie Fossett, and three sisters, Hassie Fossett Dickerson, Annie Fossett Smith, and Denna Jean Fossett Kennamer.
She is survived by her nephew, his wife, and their children: James and Myra Dickerson of Arab, AL; and three nieces, their husbands, and their children: Charles and Verna Kay Fossett Mathews of Weddington, NC; Faron and Linda Kennamer Thompson of Gainesville, GA; and Katherine Smith Bone of Clermont, FL. There are also several great nieces and nephews who loved her, as well.
Louise was born on May 15, 1921, in DeKalb County, AL. She grew up in a loving home and was a bright businesswoman. Louise will be remembered for her kindness and generosity, quick wit and humor, her laughter and wisdom, her love for the Lord, and her caring for many friends and family over the years. She was a wonderful aunt and she was dearly loved by all.
The family greatly appreciates and is thankful for the love and care provided by dear friends, Donna and Anthony Looney, Sherry and Richard Lowden, Jr. of Albertville, AL, and Caritas Hospice, along with the staff of Ashton Senior Living in Gainesville, GA.
All friends and extended family are welcome to join us at a Graveside Service on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Memory Hill Cemetery in Albertville, AL.
