Margaret Louise (Cones) Metzger

Ms. Margaret Louise Metzer, age 77, of Winder, passed away on May 8, 2026, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center – Braselton Campus.

Ms. Metzer was born on March 2, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to the late William Cyriel Cones and Louise Wynema Leonard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Allen Metzger.

She worked many jobs over her lifetime... jewelry repair early on, many years in retail, but her favorite job was on the landscaping crew for an apartment complex. She loved being outdoors and her favorite task was pressure washing anything that needed it.

She is survived by her son, Gary David Sievertsen, Winder, GA.; daughter, Jill Marie Jones (Michael), Buford, GA.; grandson, Alexander Michael Jones, Buford, GA.; brother, William A. Cones, Cedar Rapids, IA.; sisters, Arleeta Charlene Cones – Clemmons (Harless), Cook, MI. and Vera Kay Cones, Cook, MI.; along with her niece and nephews, Melissa Cones, Cedar, Rapids, IA., Shane Simmons, Cedar Rapids, IA., and William Cones, Cook, MI.
