Margaret Helen (Hearn) Murchison

Ms. Margaret H Murchison, age 80, of Flowery Branch passed away Friday, May 1, 2026 at her residence, surrounded by family.

Ms. Murchison was born in Milledgeville, GA on November 21, 1945, the daughter of the late William Waller (Tiny) Hearn and Stella Weglicki Hearn of Eatonton, GA.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Hearn and her sister, Mary Collis. 

She had been a Legal Secretary with Nall and Miller for 50+ years. Loved Georgia Tech and the University of Georgia until they played each other and then cheered for her Yellow Jackets. She loved her family, friends, and had open arms for everyone.

Ms. Murchison is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Eric O’Kelley of Woodstock, son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Christie Karr-Murchison of Gainesville; grandchildren and spouses Alisha and Micha Dickie, Rex and Cassandra Humphrey, Christina and Reed Petty, Lexie and Cameron Smith, Will O’Kelley, Macey Karr, McKaylin Karr, McCade Karr; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 23rd at 11 am at Flowery Branch United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to the American Cancer Society in her honor.
