Mrs. Margie Stephens Hamilton, age 93, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
Margie was born in Dawsonville, Georgia to the late Robert and Mandy Stephens. She had a deep love and reverence for God. “Maw Maw” was a loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother, cherished sister, and loyal friend whose kindness and warmth touched everyone who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her late husband, John D. Hamilton; survived by her three children, John Hamilton (Teresa), Wanda Cooper (Joe), and Sheila Rogers (Andy); seven grandchildren, Brad Hamilton (Lindsay), Josh Hamilton (Katie), Katie Lara (Luis), Jessica Sturm (Kevin), Jody Cooper, Jacob Rogers (Sarah), and Anna Grace Rogers; six greatgrandchildren, Luke, Marissa, Kaylee, Lacey, Allison, and “Little Man” Killian; many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Margie will be remembered for her loving heart, her mischievous streak, her enormous strength, her generous spirit, and the deep love she had for her children and extended family. Her memory will forever live in the hearts of those who love her.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Memorial Park Main, 2030 Memorial Park Drive, Gainesville, GA 30504. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the Memorial Park Main - Chapel.
