Born June 20th, 1957 in Fort Ord, California, and was the younger of two children.
Graduated from Gainesville High School in Gainesville, Georgia, and North Georgia College with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology.
Married Barbara Savage of Lula in 1996, and they lived in Dawson County near lake Lanier.
Jep began his early adult years as a lighting and sound technician for the band "River Street". During this time, he became acquainted with famous musicians such as Leon Russell and Greg Allman.
He started a long-running career as a dental technician in Gainesville; a line of worked that allowed him to express his creative talents as most of the work was done by hand.
Mr. Padget's interests were cooking and photography. His talent for capturing the images of north Georgia's gardens and waterfalls brought him wide distinction. During his youth, he was active in the Boy Scouts (attained the rank of Eagle); was an athletic trainer for the Gainesville High School football team; and competed in motocross competition.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years; his step son Chris Dale of Gainesville; and his minor grandchildren, Haley and Hannah of Gainesville. Surviving also is his mother, Mary Anne Padget of Gainesville; a brother, H. N. "Nat" Padget of Roswell, Georgia; his nephews H. N. "Nate" Padget, III of Clemson, South Carolina and Brandon W. Padget of Brevard, North Carolina; and his niece, Amanda Marie Padget, also of Roswell.
Mr. Padget passed away quietly at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center November 20th.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel, in Gainesville, on Saturday December 6th at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made Troop 26, Boy Scouts of America, sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Gainesville, 751 Green Street NW Gainesville, Ga 30501
