Mrs. Ruth Cash Brownlow, 102 years and six months, of New Holland went to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at New Horizon’s Limestone.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2022 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Reverend Ricky Taylor will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 17th from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.
She was born April 29, 1920 in Chestnut Mountain Community in Hall County. Her parents were Rufus Spencer and Ella Deaton Cash. Her parents had 9 children, three sons and six daughters. She was the sixth child. They lived on a farm.
She graduated from Oakwood High School and Terrels Beauty School and Vocational Tech Practical Nursing School in Clarkesville. She worked at the Hosiery Mill and New Holland Textile. Also, McClellan’s 5 & 10, a beauty shop, N.E.G.M.C. and Lakeshore Heights Nursing Home.
She met her husband, Ira, while she was working at the Hosiery Mill. They married on January 12, 1941. Ira was born in New Holland Mill Village to Enoch and Maggie Thomas Brownlow.
She was a member of New Holland Baptist Church. She moved her letter from Chestnut Mountain Baptist Church in 1941. She was a member of New Holland Baptist Church for 82 years and a member of the Sunday School Class and the Golden Age Senior Group.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ira Bradley Brownlow, Sr.; three brothers, Frank, Carl, and Aaron Cash; five sisters, Infant Mary Louise Cash, Irma Cash, Grace Cash, Lillian Cash Cantrell and Frances Cash Vernon.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Karen Brownlow Craven; son and daughter in law, Bradley and Ellen Brownlow; granddaughter, Marcia Craven, grandson and wife, Marc and Beth Craven; granddaughter and husband, Tracy and Mike VanMinos; grandson and wife, Richard and Kellie Brownlow; great grandchildren, Trey and Heather Davenport, Max and Bailey VanMinos, Alexis and Steven Jarvis, Elizabeth and Auston Jones, Libbie and Mollie Brownlow, Parker and Jessica Craven, Savannah Craven; 10 great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives.
