Mr. Myron Dean Oliver, age 91, of Clermont, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
Myron Dean Oliver was born to David Dean and Ara Oliver on July 15, 1934 as the 7th of 8 children in Polksville, Georgia (Lula). His parents and all his siblings preceded him in death. His siblings were Garnet, Telford, John, and Mancel Oliver as well as Bernice Shubert, Virginia Hulsey and Ardelle Sammons.
He married Leila Ann Faulkner on July 2, 1955 and remained by her side 69 years until her passing on September 18, 2024.
Myron is survived by his son Tim Oliver (Mary) Hoschton, GA; daughter Lesa Davis (Burton) Cleveland, GA; grandchildren Jared Hodge (Leigh Anne) Gainesville, GA; Rachel Hudgins (Micah) Semmes, AL; step-grandson Matt Davis (Lauren) Cleveland, GA, and great grandchildren Sutton, Grant, Emory, Ashlyn, Caleb, Emi and Rhett. Other family includes Gina, Anna, Megan and Chloe Baker and nieces and nephews.
He spent most of his career in the farm finance field starting with Production Credit Association until they were acquired by Federal Land Bank from which he retired. He loved being around and discussing pretty much anything related to farming. He planted and harvested gardens and small crops of many varieties as well as owning all kinds of animals from goats to guineas at one time or another. Growing up after the great depression, he lived a simple and happy life focused on frugality and simple living. Gardening became his primary hobby later in life, and he loved to share the fruits of his labor.
He placed his trust and faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as a young man and was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church for over 60 years. He loved his family, “adored his grandkids”, and sought to treat others the way he wanted to be treated.
A special expressed “Thank You” to Patsy Watson who has lovingly assisted with his care for over 2 years. You were “amazing” and now considered part of our family.
Also, to all the amazing folks at Caritas Hospice Care, you were awesome, punctual, professional and caring with all your services. You possess an incredible staff!
