Mrs. Nora Laverne Poole, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in Oakwood, Georgia. She was born to the late Johnny Abernathy and Nora Abernathy on May 19, 1944, in Gainesville, Georgia.

A graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Reverend Drewery Loggins will officiate the service.

Mrs. Poole is preceded in death by her parents; sons, Gary Poole, Michael Poole; sisters, Barbara Gaddis, Lorene Aldridge; brothers, Randall Abernathy and Winfred Abernathy.

She is survived by her husband Dewey Poole of Oakwood; daughters, Cathy Poole of Gainesville, Judy Patton (Tommy) of Flowery Branch; grandsons, Dusty Poole of Gillsville, Devin Poole of Gainesville, Jacob Patton (Clarissa) of Atlanta; great-grandchildren, Holly Poole, Garrett Poole; sisters, Ramona Norrell of Gainesville, Sherell Grindle of Winder; and a number of loving nieces and nephews.
