Mrs. Pauline Marion Marvetz, 95, peacefully passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the Hospice Satilla House in Waycross, GA, following a short illness.
Born on July 14, 1930, in White County, GA, Pauline was the fourth daughter of the late Dewitt “D.W.” Crane and Onnie Farmer Crane. She grew up in White County but spent the majority of her life in Gainesville, GA. She retired from Prestolite Electric after more than 30 years of dedicated service. At 86 years old, she made the hard decision to downsize and relocate to Waycross, GA. Once she moved, Pauline often commented how glad she was to start a new chapter in her life. She attended First Baptist Church of Waycross and found great friendships in the Ruth Sunday School class.
In her younger years Pauline loved camping, boating and growing vegetables. She enjoyed walking around the yard with her favorite dog, Bangee, and eating ice cream cones on her breezeway with family. Later in life, she enjoyed crafting, embroidery and crocheting, always creating with love and spunk. She loved visiting with all her nieces and nephews - evidenced in the many pictures she enjoyed taking. Pauline especially cherished the last few years with her baby sister, Shirley, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and fun outings with her best friend, Veronica Davis. At any opportunity, Pauline bragged about the staff of Village Lake Suites, where she resided and felt loved every day.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle W. Marvetz; her daughter, Margaret Russell; her son, Eddie Lovell; and her siblings: Myrtlene Winters, Vanilla Harkins, Irene Mays, Leroy Crane, Austell Crane, and Florene McFarland.
She is survived by her two granddaughters: Dana Jones (Tyler) of Waycross, GA and Alishia Giusto (Ian) of Newnan, GA; great-grandchildren Madeline Jones, Olan Jones, and Aubriel Giusto; her sister, Shirley Truelove of Gainesville, GA, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Gainesville, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Baptist Village Lake Suites, 715 Village Lake Drive, Waycross, GA 31501.
