Mr. Richard Russell Yow, Jr., age 76 of Murphy, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-4pm, Sunday, April 26, 2026 at Chevelle’s 66 in Murphy, NC, 66 Hiwassee St, Murphy, NC 28906. All are welcome to come and share stories and memories of our sweet dad.

Mr. Yow was born April 27, 1949 to the late Richard Russell Yow, Sr. & Marion Sharp Yow in Toccoa, Georgia. A veteran of the United States Navy, he went on to retire as a teacher and manager with Rick Pruett Goodyear.

He is survived by his daughter, Melanie Yow Lamberson, his son, Kevin Yow, his son-in-law, Michael Lamberson, and his grandchildren, Evan and Miles Lamberson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Yow.
