Rita Papineau

Memorial Park Braselton Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Rita Papineau, age 86, of Statham, Georgia, who passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023. Mrs. Papineau was born in St. David, Quebec, Canada, a daughter to the late Emile and Béatrice Salois. Mrs. Papineau was homemaker and a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Athens, Georgia. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Papineau was preceded in death by her husband, Jean Papineau, brothers, Maurice Salois, Normand Salois, Onil Salois and her sister, Clémence Salois.

Survivors include her son, Patrick Papineau of Statham, GA; step-children, Sylvie Papineau of Varennes, Qc, Can, Daniel Papineau of Varennes, Qc, Can; sisters, Jeanette Salois of Tracy, Qc, Can, Doris Salois of Longueuil, Qc, Can, Murielle Salois of St. Robert, Qc, Can,  Réjane Salois of Boucherville, Qc, Can, Simone Salois of Hollywood, FL, Claudette Salois of Lac-Aux-Sables, Qc, Can, Lise Salois of Longueuil, Qc, Can; brothers, Paul-Emile Salois of Tracy Qc, Can, Rosaire Salois of Yamaska, Qc, Can, Gilles Salois of St. David, Qc, Can and Claude Salois of Baie-Du-Febvre, Qc, Can and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 12:00 PM in the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Athens, Georgia. The Celebrant will be Father Bryan Kuhr.

The visitation will be held on Thursday evening, January 12, 2023, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Memorial Park Braselton Funeral Home.
