Ronald Edward Grindle

Ronald Edward Grindle passed away unexpectedly on June 24, 2026, in Gainesville, Georgia.

He is survived by his son, Ronny Grindle and wife, Beth, of Greer, South Carolina; his step-son, Jeff Briscoe and wife, Merri, of Gainesville, Georgia; his step-daughter, Lesley Scott and husband, David, of Braselton, Georgia; five beloved grandchildren, Jackson, Macy, Carter, Lucas, and Cooper; and his fiancée, Paulette Argento, of Gainesville, Georgia.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Edward C. Grindle; his mother, Shirley R. Grindle; and his wife, Carla Grindle, all of Gainesville, Georgia.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Sunday, July 12, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Main on Memorial Park Drive in Gainesville, Georgia. A celebration of Ron's life will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Pinecrest Baptist Church in Gainesville.

Ron was born on January 13, 1949, in Gainesville, Georgia. After graduating from South Hall High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1969. He served as a Staff Sergeant with the 1st Organizational Maintenance Squadron at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, until his discharge in 1972. He retired from the Georgia Department of Revenue in 2004 after many years of dedicated public service.

After retirement, Ron became active in several community organizations in the Gainesville area. He was a devoted member of the Chattahoochee Woodturners, where he served as Librarian, Programs Director, and Vice President. His love for woodworking was evident in every piece he created. Beyond woodworking, Ron had a remarkable ability to build or repair almost anything. He approached every project with patience, precision, and meticulous attention to detail. Whether helping a friend or family member, repairing equipment, or crafting something by hand, he believed that anything worth doing was worth doing well.

Ron was also a proud veteran and an active member of the local chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America.

Above all, Ron was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. He and Carla were devoted members of Pinecrest Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a deacon. His quiet faith, humble servant's heart, and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on those who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 772, P.O. Box 775, Gainesville, GA 30503, in Ron's memory. He was proud of his military service, and the family hopes these gifts will help continue the chapter's mission of supporting and honoring those who have served.

Ron will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, integrity, craftsmanship, and service. His steady presence, generous spirit, and ability to fix almost anything will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
