Thomas Lewis Brown, born in DuBois, Pennsylvania
September 24th, 1940 – June 1st, 2026
Wife Orinda Ruggles Brown, married on December 23rd, 1968
A decorated United States Navy veteran, he served three tours during
the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he enjoyed a long
career with the Norton Company before retiring. He was an avid
softball enthusiast who found great joy in watching his granddaughter,
Kadie, play throughout the years. Together, they shared a love for LSU
Softball and spent countless hours cheering on their favorite team. He
treasured each of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, taking
pride in their accomplishments and cherishing the unique relationships
he shared with each of them. He also enjoyed fishing and had a special
love for Christmas, a season he celebrated with childlike enthusiasm
year after year. One of his favorite traditions was watching Hallmark's
Christmas in July movies, which brought him just as much joy as the
holiday season itself. Above all, he loved his family deeply and
treasured every moment spent with those he held dear.
Preceded in death by his parents, Marie and Thomas Brown, and sister,
Shirley Berry of Elyria, Ohio. Daughter, Marlie O’Hara of Lorraine,
Ohio, and great-granddaughter, Charleigh Ryan, of Phoenix, Arizona.
He is survived by his loving wife, Orinda, of almost fifty-eight years. His
daughters, Tammie Houston of Lorraine, Ohio, Daena Brown Sullens and husband, Grady, and Charolai Brown; his sons, Tomy Brown and wife, Karen, and William "Bill" Brown. In addition to his children, he leaves behind eleven grandchildren
and eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
