Thomas John Daly

Thomas John Daly age 85 passed peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness.

Tom was born on January 17, 1941 in Elmhurst, New York to Thomas and Suzanne Daly.

At an early age, Tom discovered his passion for baseball and basketball and spent his free time playing on local leagues, excelling in sports.

He enjoyed a career in sales management until he opened his own business, Laser Ink.

He was married to the love of his life, Peggy for 58 years until her passing in 2021. Together they raised their five children. They moved their family from Queens, New York to Tulsa, Oklahoma where Tom coached various baseball, basketball and football teams, was a troop leader for Boy Scouts and served on the school board for his children’s school. As his career developed the family moved to Indiana and eventually Georgia where he lived until his death.

Tom loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with friends and family talking about sports and politics.

He was a parishioner at St. Michael Catholic Church and was involved in the Knights of Columbus, OCIA and Bible studies.

Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife Peggy,  grandson Eric Barnes,  brother Gerald Daly and parents Thomas and Suzanne Daly.

He is survived by his five children Peggy Green, T.J. Daly, Terri Updegrove and her husband Brad, Beth Kellner and her husband Chris, and James Daly, as well as his nine grandchildren, Taylor, Danielle, Samantha, Max, Dominic, Christopher, Brittany, Emilee and Alex and many great grandchildren

A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, February 18 from 5pm-7pm at Memorial Park Riverside. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Thursday, February 19 at 3:30pm at St. Michael Catholic Church in Gainesville.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Knights of Columbus at St. Michael Catholic Church Gainesville, GA.
