Thomas (Tom) Harold Ewing, a proud veteran, dedicated professional, and beloved family member, passed away on October 27, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on February 23, 1946, in Marietta, Georgia, Tom was the cherished son of Edith and Harold Ewing.
A graduate of Southwest High School in Atlanta, class of 1966, Tom pursued higher education at Georgia Southern University from 1967 to 1968 before answering the call to serve his country. He joined the United States Marine Corps and served with honor during the Vietnam War, where his bravery and sacrifice earned him two Purple Hearts.
Following his military service, Tom embarked on a successful career at TRW in Flowery Branch, Georgia. He worked with dedication and integrity until his well-earned retirement in 2006.
Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Georgena Marie Ewing, who passed away on October 30, 2015. He will be remembered for his unwavering sense of duty, his love for his family and country, and his contributions to every community he was a part of. His legacy of strength, resilience, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He is survived by his children Clifford and Diana Shaw of Van Alstyne Texas, Wendy and Anton Herbst of Pensacola Florida. His grandchildren are Zachary, Jacob, Skylar, Matthew, Seth and Sarah.
A service to honor and celebrate Tom's life will be held at Memorial Park Funeral home on Friday November 7, 2025 from 12:00pm - 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Marine Corps League in memory of Thomas Harold Ewing.
