Thomas Richard Yacovella, Sr.

Thomas Richard Yacovella Sr., 66, of Gainesville, GA, passed away on August 22, 2025.

Born on August 5, 1959, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of John and Christel Yacovella.

Above all else, Tom was a protector—fiercely devoted to those he loved. His greatest pride in life was his family, especially his two children and two grandchildren, who brought him endless joy. Though his humor was often laced with wit, his loyalty and love were unwavering, steady to the very end of his days.

Throughout his 66 years, he endured great loss, including his beloved son, his parents, a brother, a sister, and countless pets who were part of his heart. Even through those hardships and failing health, he fought for every day he had, staying true to himself and showing the resilience that defined him.

He will be remembered for his strength, his wit, his protective spirit, and his steadfast love for his family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Tom is survived by his former wife and lifelong friend, Carole Yacovella (Bitonti); his son, Thomas Yacovella Jr. (deceased); his daughter, Christele Yacovella; and his grandchildren, Julia Yacovella and Julian Boileau.

He was the loving brother of Augustina Yacovella (deceased), John Yacovella (deceased), Dino Yacovella, Antoinette Egizio (Claude), Aniello Egizio, and Lisa Burneson (Scott).

He was a proud uncle to Christian Egizio (Heather), John Egizio, Chiara Egizio (deceased), John Yacovella IV, Kelly Marie Bowen, Anthony Bowen, Nicole Bitonti and Joseph Bitonti (Chelsey) 

Tom also cherished the time spent with his aunts and uncles, who played an important role throughout his life. He will be lovingly remembered by numerous cousins, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
