Vivian Dover Obituary

Mrs. Vivian Elaine Dover, age 77, of Oakwood, Georgia, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Emory Hospital in Decatur, Georgia after an extended illness.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM for friends and family. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Reverend Clyde Self will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Born on June 3, 1948, in Gainesville, Georgia and grew up in Chicopee Village. The daughter of the late James and Ruth Turner. Vivian was a long-time member of Chicopee Baptist Church. Vivian was a loving wife and mother. She had a special rapport with people and was always thinking of others.

She is preceded in death by her husband James Dover of 58 years; parents, James and Ruth Turner; sister-in-law, Pat Kent; brother-in-law’s, Jerry Dover and Jimmy Grant; nephew, Bradley Grant.

Mrs. Dover is survived by her daughters, MeLony Dover and Misty Murphy; son-in-law, Joel Murphy; grandson, TJ & Sydnee Murphy; great grandson, Asher Murphy; sister, Teresa Grant; nephew, Chad Grant; brother, Donald & Darcie Turner; niece, Marcy & JP Morris; sister-in-law, Pat Dover;  nieces & their husbands, Tracey & Patrick Elliott, Dana & Terry Waycaster.
