W.C Mayo

            Mr. W. C. Mayo, age 78 of Gainesville, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at his residence following an extended illness.

            Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Reverend Chris Ellis will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home.

            Mr. Mayo was born May 9, 1945 in Altoona, Alabama to the late Albert Mayo and Verlie Voss Mayo.  He Owned and operated his own company, Brookton Tile Company as a tile mechanic and was a member of Lighthouse Church.  W. C. was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Marel Mayo, Gwen England and Audrey Goble and his half-brothers, Howard Mayo and Floyd Mayo.

            Mr. Mayo is survived by his wife, Charlotte Mayo of Gainesville, his daughters & sons-in-law, Melinda and Leonard Galvan of Clermont, Janet and Nathan Jones of Gainesville, Lisa and Roger Toney of Cleveland and Kelly and Chris Ellis of Gainesville, his grandchildren; Megan Libasci, Jake Ellis, Rian Galvan, Amber Moreno, Morgan Southers, Shasta Fields, Jada Whiten, Candace Painter, Catie Berry and Michael Toney and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
