Wayne Bryant

Wayne Bryant, 79, of Braselton, Georgia entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 7, 2026. Born on August 3, 1946, Wayne lived a life marked by unwavering faith, was a faithful servant with deep love for his family.

Wayne has finished his earthly race and is now at peace with his Lord, free from pain and suffering. His faith was the foundation of his life, and even as his health declined, he continued to serve the Lord he loved. For many years, Wayne faithfully taught Sunday School at Hopewell and served as Senior Adult Director. He had a heart for sharing God’s Word and encouraging others in their walk with Christ. His greatest desire was for others to know Jesus. We find comfort in knowing he has heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a dog handler before beginning a 31-year career with BellSouth, where he retired after years of dedicated service.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Bryant; his children, Tina Bryant of Cape Canaveral, Florida; Crissie Boyd (Mike) of Hoschton, Georgia; Julie Smith (Robby) of Braselton, Georgia; Richie Richardson (Crystal) of Statham, Georgia; Tony Reed (Elise) of Opelika, Alabama; and Tonya Mosley (Greg) of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Wayne was a proud grandfather to Chelsea Carroll (Clay), Lauren Love (Sam), Connor Boyd (Mackenzie), Alyssa Hamrick (Mason), Jackson Joy (Avery), Emma Kate Joy, Hailey Sawyer, Coleman Richardson, and Nicholas Bryant. He was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Grant Carroll, Nolan Carroll, Ellie Carroll, Lyla Carroll, Baylor Love, Bella Boyd, and Briggs Boyd.

He is also survived by his brothers, Tim Griffin (Judy) of Ponte Vedra, Florida; Jimmy Griffin of Port St. Joe, Florida; and Dennis Griffin (Teresa) of Lynn Haven, Florida; his sisters-in-law, Martha Mullinax (James) Oakwood, Georgia, and Jackie Pirkle Gainesville, Georgia along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, O.E. and Shirley Griffin; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gene and Christine Pirkle; and his brother-in-law, Johnny Pirkle.

Wayne dearly loved his church family at Hopewell. The love, prayers, and faithful friendship of his Willing Workers Sunday School Class were a tremendous blessing to him throughout the years and especially during his illness. His family is deeply grateful for their unwavering love, support, and prayers.

Wayne will be remembered for his steadfast faith, his servant’s heart, his gentle spirit, and the love he shared with everyone he met. He lived a life that pointed others to Christ, and his legacy will continue through the many lives he touched. Though he will be deeply missed, his family rejoices in God’s promise that he is now home with his Savior, where there is everlasting peace, perfect joy, and no more pain.

Pallbearers will be Connor Boyd, Jackson Joy, Coleman Richardson, Lewis Mullinax, Stuart Griffin and Lee Griffin. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Grant and Nolan Carroll. 

A very special thank you to his hospice nurse and granddaughter Alyssa Hamrick who compassionately cared for her papa in his final days.
