I won’t rank as a close friend but sometimes in a large corporation, like Avon, you do not have the luxury of getting your fellow colleagues very well. Despite working in the corprate NY office, I did meet John and have memories of him being one of the “good guys”. So sorry to hear of his passing.

I am so sorry to learn that John passed away. We worked together at Avon and I always enjoyed his company. He had a gentle sense of humor and a good dose of humility. In that corporate world of the 70s and 80s with so much talent striving to reach the top, John always exhibited decency and goodness. Years after we both had left Avon, John was like my guardian angel offering me an executive level position without knowing that I had just had the company I was managing sold from underneath me. What a great guy.

I am so terribly saddened by his loss. I worked for John twice. Once at Avon and the other at Shaklee. He became a dear and trusted friend over the years as did his wife Cheryl. He was a great mentor to me over the years and we talked frequently. My heart goes out to his family. He was a good, good man and had a terrific sense of humor. We laughed a lot and shared so many memories. Miss you my friend Mac{Malcolm Aylett}

Cheryl and John married in 1964 when I was 6 years old. John was like a brother to me and we went to many ball games, went on vacations, shared many laughs and experiences. John loved his family and was one of the most generous people I ever met. He will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. John was my mentor when we worked at Avon. We worked together for many years at Newark, Delaware, in Avon's New York office when we travelled together throughout the Pacific and again we were together at AOL in London, travelling in Europe. In addition to being my mentor he was my good friend. My thoughts and prayers are to Cheryl and all his family.
