Mrs. Lois Ann Mittiga, 85

Lois Ann (Nanee) Mittiga passed away on November 24, 2021 at the age of 85, at her home in Suwanee, GA. Lois’s passing was very unexpected as she was strong and healthy prior to that day.  Lois lived a long happy life and was surrounded by loved ones when she passed.

Lois graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1954 and started her family. Once her kids were in high school, Lois joined the work force and retired after a 40+ year career at the age of 80.

As much as Lois enjoyed his career, she enjoyed traveling with her family and friends to her “bucket list” destinations with many of them being a sporting event for one of her grandchildren. In addition, the “girls” trips were a high priority!!

Lois’s top priority in life was family which included both home and work life. She believed happiness came from patience and togetherness and reminded us to say “I Love You” often.

In 1955 Lois married his high school sweetheart Frank (Sonny) Mittiga. Lois was the proud mother of Jody, Jamie, Julie and Joe but her true joy came from Matthew, Andrew (deceased), Christopher, Adam, Alex, Zach, Joseph, and Ryan, her grandchildren and Zoey, her great-grandchild. In addition, Lois had a special connection with her colleagues at Scott Hodgens/Wheeler-Kolb Management/Brand Real Estate Management Company, whom she thought of as family.

Lois is survived by her husband, Frank (Sonny) Mittiga, sister Penny Chunn, brother Billy Waltz and sister-in-law Joan (Mittiga) O’Neil.

Lois will be honored Monday, December 6, 2021 with visitation from 6pm-8pm at Memorial Park Funeral Homes & Cemetery located at 4121 Falcon Parkway, Flowery Branch, GA 30542. On Tuesday, December 7, 2021 there will be a service at St. Monica Church, located at 1700 Buford Highway, Buford, GA, starting at 11:00am

In Lieu of Flowers the family asks that you to make a donation in Lois’s name to either of the following charities: The Rare Disease Family Foundation: www.rarediseaseff.org or Damascus Road Recovery: https://www.damascusroadrecovery.org/

Lois was an amazing manager and person and friend. She was so kind and supportive as the supervisor of the team at Brand, and I learned so much from her. She was always so gracious in sharing information and helping everyone - a mentor to everyone and a model of everything a leader should be.

Knew Lois about 35 years. She was a vital member of the Team at Scott Hudgens Company, Wheeler/Kolb Management and Brand Real Estate Services. Started as a temp and retired as Senior Vice President with over 20 direct reports. Lois exemplified competence, and ability. She was especially superior at training and helping her Team excel on a daily bases. I am especially grateful for our friendship for so many years.

As an independent contractor, our experience working with Lois for close to 30 years can best be characterized as pure joy. Her professionalism, integrity, fairness, dedication, and altruism made winners of everyone having had the pleasure of an association with Lois Mittiga. Hopefully, Lois' attributes will be emulated by future leaders. She will be fondly remembered.
